Do you need 1-1 Pilates for back pain, injury recovery or performance?

If you’ve been dealing with back pain, stiffness, or are trying to return to exercise after an injury, it can be difficult to know where to start.

Group classes can be helpful, but they don’t always take into account your individual history, movement patterns, or specific needs or pace that’s right for you.

This is where 1–1 Pilates can make a significant difference.

Why 1–1 Pilates?

In a one-to-one setting, everything is tailored specifically to you.

This means we can:

• identify what’s actually causing pain or restriction
• work with your body safely and progressively
• adapt exercises in real time
• build strength and confidence without aggravating symptoms

Rather than following a general class, you are working in a way that is specific to your needs and your goals, with attention on proper form- which makes all the difference!

Who is this suitable for?

1–1 Pilates can be particularly helpful if you:

• are experiencing back pain, tension or stiffness
• are recovering from injury or returning to exercise
• have been told to “strengthen your core” but don’t know how
• feel unsure or hesitant in group classes
• want a more personalised and structured approach
• are looking to improve strength, posture and overall movement
• have specific health challenges or goals
• want to support performance in sport or other activities

Experience you can trust

With over 20 years’ experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients — from those recovering from injury or managing ongoing pain, to those looking to improve strength and performance.

I regularly work alongside physiotherapists, osteopaths and other healthcare practitioners, ensuring that sessions are appropriate, safe, and supportive of any ongoing treatment or rehabilitation.

My background also includes professional training in dance, which informs a strong focus on technique, body awareness, and long-term results.

A more individual approach

Sessions are not one-size-fits-all.

The exercises are specifically selected for your needs.

We work at a pace that suits you, focusing on what will be most effective and sustainable over time.

For some, this may mean gently rebuilding strength after a period of pain or inactivity.

For others, it may involve refining movement patterns, adding strength and endurance and improving performance.

Building strength with confidence

One of the most important aspects of this work is helping you feel confident in your body again.

When you understand how to move well and safely, everything else becomes easier — whether that’s daily activity, exercise, or returning to sport.
