How to Prepare Your Body for Pregnancy - Fertility Workshop: 24 April
A practical, science-based approach to supporting fertility before trying to conceive
Many couples go from trying not to get pregnant… to trying to conceive, without pausing to prepare. Then the focus quickly shifts to ovulation and timing.
But there is a crucial step that is often missed: the preconception window.
This is the period in the months before conception, where there is a valuable opportunity to support and optimise fertility in both men and women — including egg and sperm health, preparing the body for pregnancy, and supporting the long-term health of your future child.
This is known as preconception care.
Fertility is influenced by much more than timing alone.
The months leading up to conception play an important role in shaping the internal environment of the body — including hormonal balance, metabolic health, stress physiology, and overall reproductive function. This is what builds the fertility foundations.
What Most People Miss:
Fertility is not only about the reproductive organs.
It reflects the health of the whole body.
Factors such as:
• hormone regulation
• metabolic health
• inflammatory load
• nervous system regulation
• environmental exposures
all play a role.
Many couples are not aware of this and jump ahead to trying to conceive, something I see frequently in practice, which is why I’ve created a fertility workshop (coming up in April) to explore this in more depth.
This workshop is designed to provide a clear, practical understanding of how to support your body in the months leading up to conception, for men & women.
What You’ll Learn In The Workshop
We’ll explore:
• why the 90 days before conception matter
• how the nervous system influences fertility
• key factors that impact egg and sperm health
• what to focus on (and what not to)
• how to approach fertility in a structured, manageable way
About Your Facilitator:
This workshop is led by Tammi O’Flynn, Clinical Herbal medicine & integrative health practitioner with a special interest in fertility and preconception care.
Drawing on over 20 years of clinical experience, Tammi will explain how factors such as hormonal balance, egg and sperm health, nutrition, and nervous system regulation all play a role in preparing the body for conception.
Her work focuses on identifying and supporting the underlying factors that influence reproductive health & fertility for both men & women, through a personalised, integrative approach.
