You look fine… but inside you’re running on empty.

Today I want to share something I’m seeing a lot right now, let me know if this feels familiar to you:

Many of the women I work with look like they’re managing everything.

Work. Family. Life.

From the outside, everything appears fine.

But underneath, it often feels very different.

They tell me:

  • “I can’t switch off”

  • “I’m snappy all the time”

  • “I feel wired but I’m so exhausted”

  • “I just want to cry”

  • “My body feels constantly tense & tight”

  • “I just don’t feel like myself anymore”

For a long time, many assume this is just something they need to push through…they need to “toughen up” and get on with it.

Or that they simply need more rest…maybe an early night will help?

But what I see again and again is this:

It’s not just in your head. It’s in your body too.

Stress doesn’t just affect our thoughts.

It shows up physically:

  • tight shoulders

  • shallow breathing

  • poor sleep (that 3am wake-up!)

  • constant tension

  • a body that doesn’t fully relax

  • jaw/teeth pain from all that teeth-grinding and clenching

  • hormone dysregulation

  • digestive issues

This is why approaches like Pilates can be so helpful — not just for strength or posture, but for releasing stored tension and reconnecting with your body.

And it’s also why I integrate other tools such as EFT and nervous system regulation techniques into my work alongside herbal medicine.

Because for many women, it’s not about doing more.

It’s about helping the body feel safe enough to let go.

You don’t need to push harder.

You may just need the right kind of support.
